Roll Out Of Community Policing System (COPS) At Marine Parade NPC Marking Transition Of All 35 NPCs To COPS

Marine Parade Neighbourhood Police Centre (NPC) rolled out the Community Policing System (COPS) on Sunday, 5 April 2015 at 9.00am at Block 44A Marine Crescent. The roll out of COPS at Marine Parade NPC completes the transition of all 35 NPCs to COPS, marking another milestone of Community Policing in Singapore.  

 

         Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM) Goh Chok Tong, Grassroots Advisor for Marine Parade GRC, graced the event as the Guest-of-Honour. Commissioner of Police (CP) Hoong Wee Teck, Director, Planning & Organisation, Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Teo Chun Ching, Commander, Bedok Police Division, Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Alvin Moh, and Commanding Officer, Marine Parade NPC, Superintendent (SUPT) Philip Ong also attended the event.

 

          The event showcased past successes and future capabilities of Marine Parade NPC while recognising the contributions of community partners in helping Police to prevent and deter crime. The event also featured Marine Parade NPC’s Community Safety and Security Programme (CSSP) Project, “X-Scam @ MP” and Bedok Police Division’s “Switch to U-Lock” Project.

 

         Commander of Bedok Police Division, Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Alvin Moh said, The roll out of COPS at Marine Parade NPC today marks the transition of all 35 NPCs to COPS. More than 4,400 HDB Blocks and Multi-Storey Carparks have Police Cameras installed and we are on track to have Police Cameras in all 10,000 HDB Blocks and Multi-Storey Carparks by end 2016. Police Officers on bicycle patrols interact with residents on a daily basis, and the new Crime Strike Force has enhanced localised crime fighting capabilities. The Police will continue to work hard to build on our foundation of trust with the community and keep our communities safe."
