Police have arrested three men, aged between 32 and 37, for the offence of abetment by conspiracy to commit murder.

 

2          On 21 June 2015 at about 9.30pm, a 28-year-old man reported to the Police that he had been assaulted by two unknown men at the multi-storey carpark at Blk 747A Pasir Ris Street 71. The victim also informed Police that the two men, together with another unknown man, had fled the scene when his cries for help attracted the attention of passers-by. Upon receipt of the report, officers from Bedok Police Division responded immediately and conducted extensive enquiries to establish the identities of the suspects. In an ambush conducted, officers arrested the first suspect, a 37-year-old man, at the vicinity of Balestier Road on 22 June 2015 at about 1.00pm.

 

3          Through further follow-up enquiries, officers mounted an operation and swiftly arrested two other suspects, both 32-year-old men, at a chalet at Aloha Changi on the same day at about 9.50pm. During the operation, items such as a meat mincer, chainsaw, kitchen knives, gas cooker, gas cylinder tank, a tool set, trolley bags, plastic sheets, cable ties, cleaver, aprons, chopping board and rubber boots were also recovered from the chalet and seized as case exhibits.

Preliminary investigations suggested that the vehicle is involved in the case and it has also been seized as a case exhibit. 4          Subsequently today at about 6.40 am, Police were alerted to a case of an abandoned

5          The three suspects will be charged in Court on 24 June 2015 at 11.00am for the offence of Abetment by Conspiracy to Commit Murder which is an offence punishable under section 115 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 (2008 Revised Edition). Under Section 115 of the Penal Code, anyone who abets the commission of an offence punishable with death or imprisonment for life, shall, if that offence is not committed in consequence of the abetment, and no express provision is made by this Code for the punishment of such abetment, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years, and shall also be liable to fine; and if any act for which the abettor is liable in consequence of the abetment, and which causes hurt to any person, is done, the abettor shall be liable to imprisonment for a term which may extend to 14 years, and shall also be liable to fine.

6          Police are also looking for 29-year-old Myanmar National, Aung Aung, to assist us in our investigations into this case. Preliminary investigations revealed that Aung Aung had left Singapore on the morning of 22 June 2015.
