A 31-year-old man was arrested for attempting to bribe two Police Officers.

On 10 July 2015 at about 4.30 am, Staff Sergeant Noor Ramdan and Sergeant Mohammad Nazri from Ang Mo Kio Division responded to a case of drunkard passenger who refused to alight from a taxi at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1. Upon arrival, the officers found the man, who seemed to be intoxicated, sleeping inside the taxi. Whilst on the way back to the Police station, the man offered to introduce the officers paid sexual services, and gratification of $50/-   as inducements to let him go. The officers rejected the bribes immediately and the man was subsequently arrested for attempting to bribe police officers.

The man will be charged in Court on 13 July 2015 for the offence of Disorderly Behaviour under Section 20 of the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act and Using Indecent Behaviour towards Public Servants under Section 6(1) (a) of the Protection From Harassment Act, Chapter 256A. He may be fined up to $5000/- or jailed up to 1 year upon conviction.
