Croupier And Accomplice To Be Charged For Cheating At Resorts World Sentosa Casino

A 40-year-old man, who works as a croupier for Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) Casino, will be charged in Court on 15 July 2015 together with his accomplice, a 65-year-old Singaporean man, for cheating at play in RWS casino.

 

On 14 July 2015, the casino operator alerted the police that one of its croupiers was cheating the casino by colluding with a patron at the gaming table. On the same day, officers from the Casino Crime Investigation Branch of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested the croupier and his accomplice. $6,000 worth of casino chips, as well as other items that were believed to be used by the suspects to facilitate their crime, were also seized.

 

Both suspects will be charged in Court on 15 July 2015 for an offence of Cheating At Play under Section 172A(1)(b) read with Section 172A(3) of the Casino Control Act, Chapter 33A. If convicted, they may be sentenced to a fine not exceeding $150,000, or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 7 years, or to both.
