Police have arrested a 36-year-old man believed to be involved in a series of Theft from Vehicle cases committed in the Jurong East estate.
On 30 July 2015 at about 1.48am, a case of Theft from Vehicle was reported at a carpark located along Jurong East Street 13. Following extensive ground enquiries and follow-up investigations, officers from Clementi Division managed to establish the identity of the suspect and arrested him on the same day. EZ-link cards believed to be stolen from the IU units of the vehicles were seized as case exhibits.
The suspect will be charged in court on 31 July 2015 for the offence of Theft from Vehicle under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, the suspect will face an imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or with both.
