Four Turkish Nationals To Be Charged For Cheating At Resorts World Sentosa Casino

Four Turkish Nationals, consisting of three men and one woman aged between 24 and 52, will be charged in Court on 25 August 2015 for cheating at play in RWS casino.

On 23 August 2015, the casino operator alerted the Police that four suspects were cheating the casino by colluding with each other at the gaming table. On the same day, officers from the Casino Crime Investigation Branch of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested the four suspects. Items believed to be used by the suspects to facilitate the crime, including $4,250 worth of casino chips, were also seized.

All four suspects will be charged in the Court on 25 August 2015 for an offence of Cheating At Play under Section 172A(1)(a) read with Section 172A(3) of the Casino Control Act, Chapter 33A. If convicted, they may be sentenced to a fine not exceeding $150,000, or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 7 years, or to both.
