Police have arrested two men and a woman aged between 15 and 25, for their suspected involvement in several cases of theft from vehicles committed at Dover, Clementi and Holland Estates.

Between 18 and 21 September 2015, Police received several reports of cash cards and other valuables being stolen from lorries parked at Dover, Clementi and Holland estate. Through extensive investigative follow up and ground enquiries, officers from the Clementi Division established the identity of the suspects and arrested them at Toa Payoh on 21 September 2015.

The two men will be charged in Court on 23 September 2015 for an offence of Theft with Common Intention under Section 379 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 which carries a maximum jail term of three years’ imprisonment, or fine, or both. Investigation against the woman is ongoing.

To prevent theft from vehicles, members of public are advised to adopt the following precautionary measures:

  1. Park in well-lit areas and do not leave valuables in the vehicle.
  2. Install an anti-theft system.
  3. Remove cashcards and other valuables such as laptops before leaving your vehicle, even if it is for a short while.
  4. Wind up all windows and close all doors of your vehicle, even if it is left unattended for a short while.
