The Hindu Endowment Board (HEB) is organising the Firewalking Ceremony 2015 on Sunday, 1 November 2015. The ceremony involves devotees walking from Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple located along Serangoon Road to Sri Mariamman Temple located along South Bridge Road. The devotees will then begin their firewalking ceremony within the compound of Sri Mariamman Temple.

To facilitate the event, the following roads and lanes will be closed to vehicular traffic during the stipulated date and timing:

6.Extreme right lane of Selegie Road in the direction of Serangoon Road (between Prinsep Street and Serangoon Road)

7.Extreme right lane of Prinsep Street in the direction of Selegie Road (between Bras Basah Road and Selegie Road)

8.Extreme right lane of Bras Basah Road (between Prinsep Street and North Brige Road)

9.Extreme right lane of North Bridge Road (between Bras Basah Road and South Bridge Road)

10.Extreme right lane of South Bridge Road (between North Bridge Road and Upper Pickering Street)

11.2 right lanes of South Bridge Road (between Upper Pickering Street and Temple Street)

In addition, the following roads / lanes will see changes in vehicular traffic direction during the stipulated time periods:

Upper Hokien Street shall become a 2-way road

from 9.00 am on Sunday, 1 November 2015 to 7.00 am on Monday, 2 November 2015

Mosque Street shall become a 2-way road

from 3.00 pm on Sunday, 1 November 2015 to 7.00 am on Monday, 2 November 2015.

During the road closure, access will only be granted to police and emergency vehicles.

Parking restrictions along the peripheral roads will be strictly enforced. Vehicles found parking and causing obstruction will be towed.
