Four To Be Charged For Cheating At Play At Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) Casino

Police have arrested three men and one woman, aged between 39 and 50, in connection with a case of syndicated cheating at play at the RWS casino.

On 1 November 2015, Police were alerted to a case of cheating at play at the RWS casino. Officers from the Casino Crime Investigation Branch (CCIB) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) responded to the case and placed the four suspects under arrest. Items believed to be used by the suspects to facilitate the crime, cash amounting to about S$17,000 and about S$43,000 worth of casino chips, were also seized as case exhibits.

All four suspects will be charged in Court on 3 November 2015 for the offence of Cheating At Play under Section 172A(1)(b) read with Section 172A(3) of the Casino Control Act, Chapter 33A. If convicted, they may be sentenced to a fine not exceeding $150,000, or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years, or to both.
