The Police has arrested a 59-year-old male taxi driver and suspended his driving license for the offence of Causing Death by Rash Act under Section 304A (a) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224.

On 30 December 2015 at about 10.27 am, the Police responded to a road traffic accident involving four vehicles along Pan Island Expressway towards Tuas. A 49-year-old male motorcyclist was subsequently pronounced dead at scene.

Investigations are ongoing. Motorists, convicted for the offence of Causing Death by Rash Act, shall be liable to a fine or to imprisonment for a term which may extend to 5 years, or both.

The Traffic Police takes a stern view against such dangerous road behaviour as it puts the lives of other road users at risks. All road users are advised to remain vigilant while on the roads, for the safety of themselves and others, and reach home safely to their loved ones.
