The Police have arrested a 42-year-old man believed to be responsible in a series of Theft of female undergarments in Strathmore, Queenstown and Redhill estates.

On 22 January 2016, Police received a report of Theft of undergarment at Strathmore Avenue. Officers from Clementi Division responded swiftly to the scene.

Through extensive ground enquiries and investigation, the officers managed to establish the identity of the suspect and arrested him at Margaret Drive on the same day. He was found in possession of one piece of female undergarment which was seized as case exhibit. It is believed that the suspect might be involved in other similar cases around the area.

The suspect will be charged in Court on 23 January 2016 with the offence of Theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 which carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or both.
