The Police have arrested a 55-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of theft of wallet at a supermarket located at Blk 154A Bukit Batok Street 11.
On 19 March 2016 at about 9am, Police received a report from a 39-year-old female victim who informed that her wallet containing personal valuables and cash were missing from her bag. Following the report, officers from Jurong Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and follow-up investigations.
With the aid of CCTV footages, the identity of the suspect was established and he was subsequently arrested on 26 March 2016 at about 8.50am along Bukit Batok Street 11.
The suspect will be charged in Court on 28 March 2016 with the offence of Theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. Any person convicted for the offence of Theft shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years, a fine, or both.
