The Police Coast Guard (PCG) had arrested a 26-year-old man for unlawful entry into Singapore on 10 May 2016.

 

On 10 May 2016 at about 4.15 am, PCG detected a floating object believed to be a swimmer at the sea off Woodlands Waterfront, Singapore. PCG immediately deployed both land and sea resources to intercept the swimmer. At about 4.34am, a PCG craft successfully intercepted and arrested the man for the offence of unlawful entry into Singapore under the Immigration Act (Chapter 133). 

 

Commander of the Police Coast Guard, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Hsu Sin Yun said, "This is yet another outstanding performance by my officers resulting in the successful detection and arrest. PCG will continue to be steadfast and vigilant to achieve PCG’s mission in preventing, deterring and detecting crime in the Singapore waters.”
