The Police have arrested a 31-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of Outrage of Modesty along Ubi Avenue 2 on 13 August 2016.
On 13 August 2016 at about 10.32 am, the 31-year-old female victim reported to the Police that a man had outraged her modesty while she was travelling in a bus. Officers from Bedok Division conducted extensive investigations and reviewed the CCTV footages. The identity of the suspect was established and he was arrested along Paya Lebar Road on 16 August 2016.
The suspect will be charged in Court with the offence of Outrage of Modesty on 17 August 2016. Anyone convicted for the offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, shall be punished with an imprisonment term which may extend to 2 years, or with caning, or with combination of such punishments.
