The Police have arrested a 17-year-old youth for his suspected involvement in a series of vandalism cases, reported at Tanjong Katong residential estate.

                                        

Between July and August 2016, the Police received several reports of Singapore flags hung outside the residences and emblems of vehicles parked along the road were damaged. Through extensive ground enquiries and protracted investigations, officers from Bedok Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him on 14 Aug 2016.

 

Investigation against the suspect is ongoing.

 

The offence of Vandalism under Section 3 of the Vandalism Act, Chapter 341 carries a punishment of imprisonment of up to three years or fine up to $2,000, and caning of not less than three strokes and not more than eight strokes.
