The Police have arrested two men, aged 31 and 33 for their suspected involvement in a case of robbery at Blk 2 Hougang Ave 3.
On 30 August 2016 at about 12.00am, a 62-year-old man reported that an unknown man had robbed him of his belongings, which included cash amounting to $10,000/-, a handphone and a gold chain, before fleeing towards an unknown direction.
Through extensive follow-up investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Division established the identities of both men and arrested them on 1 September 2016 at about 4.35pm at Blk 115 Bedok North Road. Cash amounting to about $8,000 were seized from both men.
The two men will be charged in Court on 3 September 2016 with the offence of Robbery with common intention under Section 392 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, they are liable to an imprisonment term of not less than 3 years and not more than 14 years and shall also be punished with caning of not less than 12 strokes.
