The Police Coast Guard (PCG) has arrested two men for unlawful entry into Singapore on 10 October 2016.

On 10 October 2016 at about 1.37am, in collaboration with the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), PCG detected two floating objects believed to be swimmers at the sea off Woodlands. Both land and sea resources were deployed immediately to apprehend the two swimmers. At about 1.53 am, the two men, aged 21 and 52, were arrested for unlawful entry into Singapore under the Immigration Act, Chapter 133.

Commander of the Police Coast Guard, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Hsu Sin Yun said, "The close collaboration between SPF and ICA which resulted in the successful arrest of the duo reaffirms our determination and concerted efforts to stamp out unlawful attempts to enter Singapore. PCG will continue to work closely with other agencies and stakeholders to ensure that Singapore waters are safe and secure”.
