The Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of House-breaking by night.

 

On 11 October 2016 at about 10.46pm, the police received a ‘999’ call informing that someone had broken into his house along Lyndhurst Road. Officers from Bedok Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and swiftly established the identity of the suspect, who was arrested at about 12.20am on 12 October 2016, within 2 hours from the report.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 13 October 2016 with the offence of House-breaking by night to commit theft under Section 457 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 5 years, and shall also be liable to fine; and if the offence intended to be committed is theft, the term of the imprisonment shall not be less than 2 years and not more than 14 years.
