The Police have arrested a 43-year-old man for his involvement in a case of Mischief by Fire.
On 30 November 2016 at about 1.29pm, the Police were alerted to a fire that had broken out at a unit located at Blk 20 Jalan Tenteram. Officers from the Tanglin Division responded immediately to the scene and commenced intensive investigation probes into the incident.
Through extensive ground enquiries and follow-up investigations, the suspect was identified and arrested within one hour after the incident was reported.
The suspect will be charged in Court on 1 December 2016 with the offence of Mischief by Fire with intent to cause damage under Section 435 of the Penal Code, which is punishable on conviction with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years, and shall also be liable to fine.
