The Police have arrested five men, aged between 28 and 57, for their suspected involvement in a case of forgery.
On 8 December 2016, the Police received a report from a bank, informing that they had received a small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) loan application with supporting documents believed to be forged. Through extensive investigations and ground enquiries, officers from Tanglin Division established the identity of the five suspects and arrested them between 9 and 10 March 2017.
Investigations against the five suspects are ongoing.
Any person found guilty of Forgery for the Purpose of Cheating under Section 468 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, may be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend up to 10 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
