The Police have arrested a 32-year-old man for the offence of Dangerous Driving.

 

On 17 March 2017, the Traffic Police received information that a trailer truck had driven dangerously along ECP towards MCE (AYE earlier in the morning. Through follow-up investigations, the identity of the male driver was established and he was arrested swiftly.

 

Motorists caught for Dangerous Driving under Section 64(1) of the Road Traffic Act, Chapter 276, will, upon conviction, lose their driving licences and shall be liable to a fine not exceeding $3,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months, or both and in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years, or both.

 

Motorists are urged to drive safely and to abide by traffic rules and regulations. The Traffic Police will not hesitate to take firm action against motorists who endanger the safety of other road users.
