The Police have arrested four youths, aged between 16 and 21 for their suspected involvement in a case of theft of motor vehicle.
On 3 April 2017, a 25-year-old female victim reported to the Police that her car was stolen from the carpark of Block 426 Pasir Ris Drive 6. Through follow up investigations and with the aid of images from Police cameras (POLCAMs), officers from Bedok Division established the identities of the four suspects and arrested them along Pasir Ris Central on 6 April 2017 at about 1.35pm. The victim’s car was also recovered at Blk 54 Sims Drive and has since been returned to her.
Investigations against the four suspects are ongoing. The offence of Theft of Motor Vehicle under Section 379A of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, carries an imprisonment term of up to 7 years and offenders shall also be liable to a fine.
