The Police conducted enforcement operations targeting massage establishments in Clementi, Upper Paya Lebar, Sennett Estate and Macpherson on 27 and 28 April 2017.
During the two-day operations conducted by Clementi and Tanglin Police Division respectively, 35 women from eight massage establishments were checked. Three women aged between 36 and 45 were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter, Chapter 353. Actions were also taken against the three massage establishments for offences under the Massage Establishments Act. Investigations are ongoing.
Commanding Officer of Toa Payoh Neighbourhood Police Centre, Superintendent of Police Audrey Ong, said, “The Police take a serious view against massage establishments that contravene the provisions under the Massage Establishments Act. The operations led by Police conducted in the last few days are part of our ongoing enforcement efforts to ensure massage establishments adhere to the rules; and conditions of their licences. We will continue our enforcement efforts and all offenders will be dealt with in accordance with the law.”
