The Police have arrested a 60-year-old man for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon.

 

On 23 May 2017, the Police received a report on two persons fighting at Block 278 Bukit Batok East Avenue 3. A 55-year-old man was found injured at the said location and was conscious when conveyed to the National University Hospital.

 

Officers from Jurong Police Division conducted intensive ground enquiries. With the aid of images from Police cameras (POLCAM) in the vicinity, Police identified and arrested the 60-year-old suspect at Blk 5 Banda Street on 24 May 2017.        

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 25 May 2017 with an offence of Voluntarily Causing Grievous Hurt with a Dangerous Weapon, under Section 326 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, the suspect shall be punished with imprisonment for life, or with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 15 years, and shall also be liable to fine or to caning.
