The Police have arrested a 50-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft.

 

On 29 May 2017 at about 2.20pm, a 69-year-old woman reported that her necklace was snatched by an unknown man along West Coast Drive.

 

Officers from Clementi Police Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of Police Cameras (POLCAMs), they established the identity of the suspect and arrested him along Holland Close on 30 May 2017.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 1 June 2017 with the offence of Snatch Theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term of not less than one year and not more than 7 years, and shall also be liable to caning.
