The Police are investigating two separate cases of wilful trespass that took place in Sentosa over the past few days.

For the first case on 18 October 2017, the Police were alerted by Sentosa Rangers that two men had been detained for trespassing into a restricted area at the utilities bridge along Sentosa Boardwalk. Two days later, on 20 October 2017, the Police were alerted to another case whereby three men were detained for having trespassed into the same restricted area.

With the assistance of the CCTV footages, Clementi Police Division officers established that for both cases, the men had climbed over a fence to gain entry into the restricted area for fishing purposes despite the presence of a “No Fishing” signage at the gate entrance.

Investigations against all five men are ongoing. The offence of Wilful Trespass under Section 21(1) of the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act, Chapter 184, carries a punishment of a fine not exceeding $1,000.

The Police would like to remind that the public that any person who without satisfactory excuse, wilfully trespasses on any ground belonging to the Government or appropriated to public purposes, shall be investigated accordingly.
