Man Arrested For Series Of Theft Of Bicycles And Electric Scooters

The Police have arrested a 37-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft of bicycles and electric scooters.

 

Between October and November 2017, the Police received several reports where bicycles and electric scooters were stolen from various bicycle bays at Bukit Batok, Teck Whye Lane, Keat Hong Close and Choa Chu Kang public housing estates.

 

Officers from Jurong Police Division conducted extensive investigation and with the aid of footages from Police cameras (POLCAMs) the identity of the 37-year-old suspect was established. He was arrested on 7 November 2017 at Block 160 Jalan Teck Whye. Tools, apparels, two electric scooters and a bicycle were seized as case exhibits.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 9 November 2017 with an offence of Theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. Whoever commits theft shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or with both.
