Man Arrested for Criminal Trespass and Possession of Housebreaking Implements

The Police have arrested a 33-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of Criminal Trespass and Possession of Housebreaking Implements at a construction site along Meyappa Chettiar Road.

On 21 January 2018 at about 1.26 am, the Police received a report that a man carrying a bag was behaving suspiciously in the compound of the construction site.

Officers from Tanglin Police Division arrested the man at the construction site. His bag, containing housebreaking implements including a bolt cutter, a penknife, a cable cutter and screwdrivers was seized for investigations. Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect is involved in cases of theft previously reported at the same construction site.

The suspect will be charged in Court on 22 January 2018 with the offence of Criminal Trespass under section 447 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, the suspect shall be liable to imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 months, or a fine of not more than $1,500 or with both.
