The Police have arrested a 55-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of Housebreaking and Theft by Night at Blk 700B Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6.
On 24 January 2018 at about 8.30 am, the Police received a report from a victim informing that his keys, mobile phone and cash were missing from the house.
Through follow up investigations and with the aid of police cameras (POLCAMs), officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division managed to establish the identity of the suspect and arrested him on 25 January 2018 along Ang Mo Kio Ave 6. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had entered the house through the main door using the house keys which was left unattended at the keyhole.
The suspect will be charged in Court on 26 January 2018 with an offence of Housebreaking and Theft by Night under Section 457 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 which carries a maximum of 7 years’ imprisonment.
