The Police have arrested a 39-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of Outrage of Modesty.

 

On 10 February 2018, a 28-year-old woman reported that she had been molested while on board a public service bus traveling along Burgundy Rise. Preliminary investigation revealed the suspect had molested the victim while he was seated behind her.

 

The victim approached the bus captain for assistance and the suspect was detained on board until the arrival of the Police, who arrested him at the scene.

 

The man will be charged in Court on 12 February 2018. Anyone convicted for the offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 is liable for a jail term of up to 2 years, or with fine, caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
