Three Men Arrested for Abetment of the offence of Theft as a Servant

The police have arrested three men aged between 25 and 36, for their suspected involvement in a case of abetment of the offence of theft as a servant.  

 

On 5 March 2018, the Police received a report by a staff of the company located along Sin Ming Road that they had detected illegal online sales of their sample products.

 

Through extensive ground enquiries, officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identities of the three men and arrested them on 6 and 7 March 2018. Preliminary investigations revealed that the online seller who was a former staff of the company, is believed to have colluded with two staff to commit theft of the products from the company’s warehouse. An assortment of 200 over products with an estimated value of $27,000 were recovered and seized as case exhibits.

 

Police investigations are ongoing. The offence of Abetment of the offence to Commit Theft as a Servant under Section 381 read with Section 109 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years, and a fine.
