The Police have arrested a 25-year-old man, for his suspected involvement in the illegal sale of marine fuel oil on board a Singapore registered tanker at the sea off Tanah Merah on 19 January 2018.

In February 2018, 22 men were arrested and charged in Court for their involvement in this illegal sale of marine fuel oil. Through further investigations, the police established the identity of 25-year-old man and arrested him with the assistance of the Royal Malaysia Police, on 15 March 2018. He will be charged in court with an offence of Criminal Breach of Trust on 17 March 2018.

Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SAC) Hsu Sin Yun, Commander of the Police Coast Guard, said, “I would like to thank the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) for their swift efforts in locating and arresting the suspect. The arrest would not have been possible without the close collaboration and strong relationship between the SPF and RMP. The SPF will spare no efforts to hunt down criminals who commit crimes in Singapore. We will work with our foreign law enforcement partners to bring these criminals to justice.
