The Police have arrested a 53-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of vandalism along Saint Andrew’s Road.

On 21 April 2018, the Police received a report that graffiti were found on the glass panel of a building along Saint Andrew’s Road. Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police Cameras (POLCAM), officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 3 May 2018. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in other similar cases where graffiti were found on vehicles in Mountbatten and Tanjong Katong. He is also believed to be involved in a case of theft of bicycle reported on 5 March 2017 in Marine Parade.

The man will be charged in court on 4 May 2018. Anyone convicted of theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, is liable for an imprisonment term which may extend to three years or a fine, or with both while anyone convicted of vandalism under Section 3 of the Vandalism Act, Chapter 341 is liable for an imprisonment term which may extend to three years or fine not exceeding $2,000/-, and caning of not less than three strokes and not more than eight strokes.
