Ten Arrested In Enforcement Operation Against Online Gambling Activites

Six men and four women, aged between 39 and 66 were arrested during an enforcement operation against online gambling conducted by Central Police Division along Sing Joo Walk on 30 April 2018.

Cash amounting to $685 and 13 computers were seized.

Investigations are ongoing.

Under the Common Gaming House Act, the owner or occupier of a common gaming shall be liable to a fine of not less than $5,000 and not more than $50,000 and imprisonment not exceeding 3 years.  Any person caught gaming in a common gaming house shall be liable to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 6 months or both.

The Police will continue to take tough enforcement action against those who are involved in such illegal gambling activities and they will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
