The Police have arrested five men and five women, aged between 20 and 44, for their suspected involvement in vice-related activities.

In a two-day operation that ended on 8 May 2018, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department conducted coordinated raids along Westerhout Road, Jalan Sultan and Cavan Road, resulting in the arrests. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were believed to be involved in a vice syndicate and would solicit customers in the vicinity of Geylang.

Three men, aged between 26 and 33, will be charged in court tomorrow with offences under the Provisions of Women’s Charter. Investigations against the remaining suspects are ongoing.

The Police will continue to take tough enforcement action and clamp down on such illicit activities. Anyone founassisting in vice activities will be dealt with severely in accordance with the law. Any person who knowingly lives wholly or in part on the earnings of the prostitution of another person is liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years and shall also be liable to a fine not exceeding $10,000.
