The Police have arrested two 17-year-old men for their suspected involvement in a series of theft cases.

Between 11 and 19 May 2018, the Police received two reports from victims who reported that after handing over their their iPhones to an online buyer, he would request to check the mobile phone before running away without paying the seller.

Officers from Bedok Police Division conducted extensive investigations and established the identities of the men. The two men were subsequently and arrested on 23 and 24 May 2018 respectively. Preliminary investigations revealed that other man had assisted by making arrangements to meet the victims.

Investigations against the suspects are ongoing. Any person found guilty with the offence of theft may be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or with both. When a criminal act is done by several persons, in furtherance of the common intention of all, each of such persons is liable for that act in the same manner as if the act were done by him alone.
