The Police have arrested an 18-year-old teenager for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On 22 May 2018, the Police received a report from a 25-year-old woman that she was molested on board a MRT train. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTV cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the teenager and arrested him on 28 May 2018.
Investigations against the teenager are ongoing. Anyone convicted for the offence of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 is liable for a jail term of up to 2 years, or with fine, caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
