The Police have arrested a man and four women, aged between 29 and 53, for their suspected involvement in vice-related activities.

On 30 May 2018, officers from Central Police Division conducted an anti-vice operation along Trengganu Street and Beach Road. During the operation, a 30-year-old man and four women, aged between 29 and 53, were arrested for their suspected involvement in vice-related activities. Preliminary investigations revealed that three women are believed to have advertised their sexual services on websites and were operating from hotels along Trengganu Street. The 30-year-old man and the remaining woman are believed to be assisting and managing the vice activities. Investigations are ongoing.

Under the Women’s Charter, any person who knowingly lives wholly or in part on the earnings of the prostitution of another person shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years and shall also be liable to a fine not exceeding $10,000.

The Police will spare no effort to clamp down on vice activities and those found engaging in such activities will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law.
