The Police have arrested 13 men and 5 women, aged between 35 and 78, for their suspected involvement in public gaming activities following an operation conducted by Central Police Division on 20 June 2018.

The suspects were arrested for offences under the Common Gaming House Act along Jalan Bukit Merah and Keong Saik Road. A total of $1,649 cash was seized.

Investigations are ongoing.

Under the Common Gaming House Act, any person gaming in public shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5000 or to an imprisonment term not exceeding 6 months or both.

The Police take a serious view on all forms of illegal gaming activities and will continue to take tough enforcement action against those who are involved in such activities.
