The Singapore Police Force (SPF) and the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) held the Delta League Grand Finals on 23 June 2018 at Bishan Stadium. Mr Amrin Amin, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Health was the Guest-of-Honour for the event.
For this June 2018 edition, there were more than 1,000 players from 120 teams competing in three different age groups: Under-16 Boys, Under-18 Boys and Girls Open Category.
The football tournament is held twice a year - during the June and December school holidays to keep the students meaningfully occupied during the long school holidays. This tournament is not all about play - Besides playing football, the youths were put through other activities designed to enhance their crime prevention awareness and inculcate in them a sense of social responsibility, teamwork and discipline.
This year, the youths were involved in designing anti-scam posters which required them to apply what they have learnt to further educate others. The winning posters were exhibited during the event and uploaded on Delta League and Neighbourhood Police Centres Facebook pages.
The next edition of Delta League will run during the December 2018 school holidays.
