The Police have arrested two men and two women, aged between 26 and 33, for offences under the Women’s Charter, during an enforcement operation against vice activities conducted from 22 to 23 July 2018.

During the operation, officers from Central Police Division conducted a series of raids along Temple Street, resulting in the arrests. Preliminary investigations revealed that the women had advertised their sexual services online and operated from hotels along Temple Street while the two men were believed to be managing them.

Investigations are ongoing.

Under the Women’s Charter, any person who knowingly lives wholly or in part on the earnings of the prostitution of another person shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding 5 years and shall also be liable to a fine not exceeding $10,000.

The Police will spare no effort to stamp out illegal activities and those who are involved in such illegal activities will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
