The Police have arrested a 38-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of theft of bicycle.
On 9 July 2018 at about 10.51am, the Police received a report that a secured bicycle was missing from the bicycle bay at Blk 194B Bukit Batok West Avenue 6.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 2 August 2018 along Bukit Batok West Avenue 9. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in other similar cases at the housing estates at Bukit Batok, Jurong East and Toh Guan.
The man will be charged in court on 4 August 2018 with theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he may be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or with both.
