The Police have arrested a 30-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of theft of motor vehicle along Pasir Ris Street 53.

On 21 August 2018 at 10.53am, the Police were informed that a motorcycle was stolen from Block 578A Pasir Ris Street 53.  Officers from Bedok Police Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and established the identity of the suspect. On 24 August 2018 at about 9.30 pm, he was arrested at Block 466 Pasir Ris Drive 6.

The man will be charged in court on 27 August 2018 with theft of motor vehicle under Section 379A of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years and shall also be liable to a fine. 

The Police would like to remind motorcycle owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

  • Park your motorcycle in well-lit areas;
  • Install an anti-theft alarm system for your motorcycle;
  • Use a motorcycle canvas to cover your motorcycle, securing both ends; and
Use additional locking devices such as disc brake locks or install suspension guards.
