The Police conducted a series of enforcement operations against massage establishments on 27 August 2018.
During the enforcement operations against massage establishments along Jalan Besar, Horne Road, King George’s Avenue, Liang Seah Street, Victoria Street, Rochor Road, Bencoolen Street, Bukit Purmei Avenue and Tanjong Pagar Road, three licensed massage establishments were found to have contravened licensing conditions. Five other massage establishments were found to be operating without licence. Three women, aged between 24 and 31, were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter.
Actions will be taken against the operators for flouting the rules and regulations under the Massage Establishment Act. The Police takes a serious view of anyone found breaking the law and will continue to take tough enforcement stance against such activities.
