The Police have conducted enforcement operations targeting vice activities in a hotel along Orchard Road on 27 August 2018.

During the enforcement operations, officers from Criminal Investigation Department and Tanglin Police Division arrested nine women, aged between 19 and 36, for their suspected involvement in vice-related activities and offences under the Immigration Act.

Landlords and hotel owners are warned not to allow vice activities inside their premises. Unlicensed brothel operators can be given a maximum fine of S$10,000 and/or up to five years’ imprisonment. Any person who knowingly lives wholly or in part on the earnings of the prostitution of another person can be jailed up to five years and fined up to S$10,000.
