The Police have arrested a 55-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of theft from person.
On 7 August 2018 at 5.56am, the Police were alerted to a case of theft from person at Bukit Panjang Hawker Centre. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the suspect and subsequently arrested him on 9 August 2018 along Bangkit Road.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is believed to be involved in other theft from person cases.
The suspect will be charged in court on 10 August 2018 with theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he faces an imprisonment term which may extend to 3 years or with fine, or with both.
