Man Arrested For Voluntarily Causing Grievous Hurt By Dangerous Weapon

The Police have arrested a 29-year old man for his suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon.

On 11 October 2018 at about 10.50 pm, the Police was alerted by the public that a woman was stabbed by a man at Block 146 Mei Ling Street.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of CCTV footages, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him on 12 October 2018 at about 9am.

The man will be charged in court on 13 October 2018 with voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon under Section 326 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with an imprisonment for life, or with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 15 years, and shall also be liable to fine or to caning.
