The Police have arrested a 36-year-old man for suspected involvement in a series of cheating cases involving $37,260.

Between 10 August and 25 October 2018, the Police received several reports from victims who had been cheated into paying for bulk purchase of Apple products. The victims then made the payments by bank transfer and cash after being promised that the goods would be delivered to them after payments have been made. However, the victims did not receive the goods and the man became uncontactable.

Officers from Bedok Police Division conducted investigations to establish the identity of the man and arrested him on 30 October 2018.

The man will be charged in court on 31 October 2018 with an offence of cheating, which is punishable with an imprisonment term which may extend to 10 years, and shall also be liable to fine.
