Enforcement Against Unlicensed Massage Establishments, Secondhand Shops, Liquor Shops And Public Entertainment Outlets

Central Police Division conducted a two-day enforcement operation against massage establishments, liquor outlets, public entertainment outlets and secondhand dealers along Park Road, Club Street, South Bridge Road, Mohd Ali Lane, Mosque Street, Keng Cheow Street and Syed Alwi Road on 3 and 4 November 2018. 

During the operation, two unlicensed massage establishments were detected. A 36-year-old woman was arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter.

During the checks on public entertainment outlets, three outlets were found to have contravened licensing conditions.

During the checks on secondhand dealers, two secondhand dealers were found to have contravened the Secondhand Goods Dealer Act.

Actions will be taken against the operators for flouting the rules and regulations under the Public Entertainment Act, Massage Establishment Act 2017, Secondhand Good Dealers Act and Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Act 2015. The Police takes a serious view of anyone found breaking the law and will continue to take tough enforcement action against such activities.
