The Police have arrested four women, aged between 20 and 26, during a two-day enforcement operation against massage establishments and public entertainment outlets along Serangoon Road, Beach Road, Foch Road, Sago Lane, Sago Street, Smith Street and Upper Cross Street on 5 and 6 December 2018.
During the enforcement operation conducted by Central Police Division, five unlicensed massage establishments were detected. Three women aged between 20 and 26, were arrested for offences under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act. A 22-year-old woman was also arrested for offences under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act and the Women’s Charter.
During the enforcement checks on public entertainment outlets, one outlet was found to have contravened public entertainment licensing conditions. Another public entertainment outlet was found to have contravened liquor licensing conditions.
Actions will be taken against the operators for flouting the rules and regulations under the Massage Establishment Act 2017, Liquor Control Act and Public Entertainment Act. The Police takes a serious view of anyone found breaking the law and will continue to take tough enforcement action against such activities.
